SELECTION CRITERIA WILL BE AS FOLLOW

6AWARDS FOR BEST PICTURE, FILM/VIDEO GAME/TRAILER SCORES, SONG AND SOUND 2026

The application period will run until May 1st at the latest. The Artistic Board of the Festival will conduct a selection of movies for nominations, and the criteria will be determined in relation to the quality and originality of the picture overall, score, song, music video and sound.

Only films with a production date between October 1st 2024 and May 1st 2026, will be considered for nominations.

SELECTION CRITERIA WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

1. Music/Sound/Song from the film or the film (Picture) itself has to be produced within October 1st 2024 and May 1st 2026;
2. Selected films must be in accordance with the categories (feature films – 30 minutes and more, short films – 2 min to 29.99 min, etc.)
3. A maximum of two composers shall be considered for their work on one film. In exceptional circumstances, the third name may be added.
4. The application/submission MUST contain the full name(s) of the person/people responsible for the submission category (e.g. If the film is submitted in the categories for Best Picture, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song, the submission MUST contain the name of director, composer, songwriter and the title of the song).
5. One composer/director can submit as many works as she/he wants, however, no more than two films per category can be nominated.
6. Best Picture and Best Short Crystal Pine Award is awarded to Director.

DEADLINES

Submission period for ISFMF 2025 is open from October 28th 2025 to May 1st 2026. All participants will be notified about the submission status on May 4th 2026 the latest. The official announcement of winners will take place on the live event in May, Croatia, EU.

Doreen Ringer-Ross

Film/TV music specialist
She is an independent film/TV music specialist focusing on career development for composers. She is also Vice Chairman of the Board of the Mr Holland's Opus Foundation. Previously she was the Vice President of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) for over 30 years. She established key programs for composers including the Sundance Film Music and Sound Design Lab, BMI’s Film/TV Composers Conducting Workshop, the Earle Hagen Film Scoring Workshop, and Rick Baitz’s Composing for the Screen mentorship program.

Javier Navarrete

Composer
Oscar-nominated composer Javier Navarrete is widely known for his music in Pan's Labyrinth (his second collaboration with Guillermo del Toro, the first being The Devil's Backbone). His score for the HBO film Hemingway & Gellhorn won him an Emmy Award. His latest work includes films like Mr. Harrigan's Phone and Sound of Freedom.

Wayne Pashley

Sound designer
Australian supervising sound editor, sound designer and re-recording mixer. He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Sound for the film Elvis. He has worked on over 90 films and television series since 1987. He is a co-founder of Big Bang Sound Design.

Adele Etheridge Woodson

Composer
Classically trained film and visual media composer. As a film composer, her strengths lie in her versatility and her creativity in fusing music genres. She is an active member of BAFTA’s 2023 Connect program, the Alliance for Women Film Composers, and the Society of Composers and Lyricists. In 2023 she won the Horizon Award at the International Sound & Film Music Festival.

Ozren K. Glaser

Composer, director, writer and producer
Croatian composer, director, writer and producer, also founder and artistic director of the International Sound & Film Music Festival.
