Film & Media Sound Academy Pilot

CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: Film & Media Sound Academy (FMSA) – Pilot Edition

📅 September 30 – October 2, 2025

We are inviting aspiring sound professionals to apply for the Pilot Edition of the Film & Media Sound Academy (FMSA), a three-day intensive training program focusing on sound for film and media. This international program is designed for individuals who envision their careers in production sound mixing and post-production sound.

Who is it for?
Ideal candidates are:

  • Final-year students enrolled in relevant university programs
  • Recent graduates (within the last two years) from relevant university programs
  • Professionals currently active in the field and seeking to specialize in film and media sound.

Program Highlights
Participants will take part in lectures and hands-on training sessions with world-renowned sound professionals, including:

  • Mark Ulano (Oscar-winning production sound mixer)
  • Michael Minkler (Oscar-winning re-recording mixer)

Training will be held in person at the University North in Varaždin using professional sound recording equipment, and conducted in English.

Participants will also gain insights into the hybrid teaching model used in the full FMSA program, including the integration of Google Workspace tools for collaboration and coursework.

Tuition Covered for Selected Participants

International Sound & Film Music Festival will provide full financial support for five selected applicants, covering the entire participation fee amount.

Additional Benefits
Selected participants will receive:

  • Certificate of Completion
  • Participants who later choose to enroll in the full FMSA program in 2026 will receive a 15% reduction in tuition. Sessions completed during the pilot will be formally recognized and will not need to be repeated.

Participants are responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation expenses.
