OPEN CALL

Design Competition for the Official Poster

International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF) 2026

The International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF) announces a public, open, and international competition for the design of the official festival poster for ISFMF 2026.

The competition is open to individuals and legal entities, including freelance graphic designers, design studios, and creative collectives, with no restrictions regarding nationality or place of residence.

  1. Purpose of the Competition

The purpose of the competition is to select an original, author-driven, and visually strong design that communicates the festival’s identity and values in a contemporary, clear, and recognisable way. The selected design must comply with the official ISFMF visual identity guidelines, including defined elements such as the logo, typography, and colour palette.

Despite clearly established branding frameworks, the organiser strongly encourages creative, bold, and interpretative solutions that bring a distinct authorial signature and a fresh visual approach.

  1. Application Process

The competition is conducted in two phases. In the first phase, interested applicants are required to submit an application / expression of interest, without submitting a design proposal.

Applications must be submitted no later than 20 February 2026, exclusively via email to mknezoci@dreamaker-productions.hr. The application must include a short biography (CV) including references of the author, studio, or collective, as well as basic contact information.

No poster concept or design proposal is required at this stage. After the deadline, all applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will receive the official ISFMF brand guidelines, technical specifications, and a creative brief on the basis of which they will develop their proposals.

  1. Award and Author’s Obligations

A one-time award in the amount of EUR 300.00 (net) is provided for the selected design.

The selected author is required to deliver the official festival poster in A2 format, prepared for print. The A2 poster must be produced in accordance with the approved visual concept and the organiser’s technical requirements and submitted to the organiser no later than 20 March 2026.

The author is further required to produce adaptations of the selected visual for additional outdoor advertising formats (such as City Light and B1), as well as adaptations for digital communication channels (including social media formats 4:5 and Story). These adaptations must comply with the approved visual concept and technical requirements and be submitted to the organiser no later than 31 March 2026.

  1. Copyright and Use of the Visual

The selected author retains moral copyright over the selected visual design, in accordance with applicable copyright laws.

Upon payment of the award, the author grants the organiser a non-exclusive, time-unlimited, and territorially unlimited right to use the selected visual for the purposes of promotion, communication, and implementation of the International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF) 2026, across all printed, digital, and online formats.

The organiser commits to crediting the author as the official designer of the ISFMF 2026 poster and, where appropriate, to presenting the author through its official communication channels, including the festival website, social media platforms, and official festival announcements.

  1. Final Provisions

The organiser reserves the right not to select any proposal if the submitted designs do not meet the required quality standards. The organiser also reserves the right to use the selected visual in all promotional, communication, and festival-related materials connected with ISFMF 2026.
