Time for ISFMF 2023 Official Programme

The International Sound & Film Music Festival holds its annual Crystal Pine Awards programme October 12-15, 2023 in Samobor, Croatia for films in which music and sound achieve full artistic and production potential.

The official programme screens some of the works nominated in 9 categories, with film professionals coming to Samobor from all around the world, world-famous composers and sound designers who have won the Oscar, BAFTA, Emmy or Grammy awards lending evening events a dose of trademark glamour.

We welcome Daniel Norgren, who scored The Eight Mountains, and Stephen Rennicks (Room, Frank, Good Luck to you Leo Grande…) who scored The Quiet Girl, screening Friday the 13th.

Highlights include a tenth-anniversary screening Saturday, October 14 of Gravity (Alfonso Cuarón), winner of seven Oscars, with special guests Steven Price (Roma, Our Planet, Baby Driver, Fury) and Christopher Benstead (The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man, Aladdin) who won Oscars for Music and Sound in Gravity; the Croatian premiere of No Dogs or Italians Allowed, the animated film that swept Tokyo Anime Award, Annecy International Animated Film Festival, European Film Awards and others; and a tribute to film composer colossus Ennio Morricone featuring former student and official biographer Alessandro De Rosa, film producer Gianni Russo and Robert Townson, world-class producer and film music genius, sharing memories about the Maestro.

The Industry Programme offers a Master Class with sound mixer Mark Ulano, Oscar winner for sound on Titanic (Killers of the Flower Moon, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Ad Astra), and film technician Patrushkha Mierzwa, and panel discussions with artists, agents and producers.

The Off Programme ‘must try’ is Nina Kraljić’s Sound Bath, along with local culture events and networking opportunities.
