The Film & Media Sound Academy (FMSA) is pleased to announce its International Call for Expressions of Interest for tuition scholarship support for the first full academic year (2026/2027) of its professional training programme in Film and Media Sound.
Following the successful development and validation of the Academy concept, FMSA is launching its first complete academic programme for the 2026/2027 academic year, bringing together internationally recognised sound professionals and experienced educators from the global film industry.
FMSA is designed for aspiring and emerging professionals who wish to develop advanced practical skills in production and post-production sound while working alongside internationally acclaimed mentors.
Programme Structure
The programme consists of two academic semesters, combining online learning with intensive in-person teaching sessions held in Croatia.
Participants will attend four one-week residential sessions during the academic year:
- October 2026
- March 2027
- April 2027
- May 2027
Should scheduling adjustments become necessary due to faculty availability, FMSA reserves the right to modify the exact dates while maintaining the overall programme structure.
The programme follows the complete professional sound workflow, from Production Sound Recording through Post-Production Sound, Sound Design, Advanced Mixing, Dolby Atmos, AI-assisted audio workflows and final delivery.
Participants will work with the same tools, workflows and production environments used in contemporary international film production.
Throughout the programme participants will work with:
- Professional Production Sound recording equipment
- Avid Pro Tools
- Dolby Atmos Studio
- Professional editing and mixing environments
- Industry-standard post-production workflows
- Practical project-based learning
- Individual mentoring and feedback
- Team-based production exercises
Scholarship Support
Regular tuition fee: EUR 8,000 + 25% VAT.
Selected participants may receive scholarship support covering between 50% and 95% of the tuition fee, depending on the quality of the application and the available scholarship budget.
Travel & Accommodation
Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs during the four in-person sessions in Croatia. Prior to the start of the programme, FMSA will gladly connect participants wishing to share private accommodation.
Who Should Apply?
FMSA is intended for ambitious emerging film sound professionals, including recent graduates and final-year students of film schools who have already gained initial practical experience in production sound recording, sound editing or post-production and wish to develop their skills through advanced, hands-on professional training.

Selection Process
